An employee of the "Food Stamp" office in Texas .... writing about the system that is crumbling from the inside and the outside, all in the name of Politics. **I'm writing this as a private citizen of the State of Texas--I do not claim to represent the opinions of HHSC**

There's a graph included in http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/news/presentations/021507_HouseHumanServicesCommittee.pdf that speaks volumes, titled "Policy Impact on CHIP Enrollment Levels".
At my office, the attitude is becoming more one of less willingness to help others. People are so tired that they can barely keep up with their own work that absenteeism and a desire to pass work on to others is prevalent.
All of the sudden, if we can not get our work done by 7pm, we are doing something wrong???? What's up w/ that? I spend my paperwork days, doing reopens, and answering my messages, hardly any time for finishing cases that are due. They just sit there in my wip.
Soon it will be all better. TIERS is slowly but surely taking our clients away. A lot of the two year old denied cases have been converted. The Womens Health Program is taking a bunch away, and they are converting all foster care medicaid cases to TIERS now also. About all that's left is the SSI clients through CBS, and we won't have a thing to do...
Yes, but I've heard that while the "rollout" into the "new system" is on hold, the rollout into TIERS is not.
Just you watch.
